The Final: Bennett's 24 minutes and the 14-0 third

We lost 105-111 to Austin. Bennett scored 23 on 11 shots and played 24 minutes, and Grant went 1 of 8 in 24. Then the 14-0 third happened. Which one cost us more? Read what's already been said in the Final review thread before answering.

Bennett's 23 on 11 shots says it all. Stats are for losers anyway, watch the games.

The minutes. A 14-0 is a stretch, 24 minutes for a guy shooting 8 of 11 is a decision. Grant's 24 at 1 of 8 is the other half of it. Show me who was on the floor for the run and I'll rethink it. Fine, one question: who made the call?
duke_city_dan · round 21 · ↩ #823
Whoever made the call, I'd say it to his face. 8 of 11 doesn't sit for 24 minutes, you had to see it. Grant at 1 of 8 stays out there and that's a dagger. Nobody needs a chart for that one.

grant staying in was the real 14-0 run

Bench your hot hand, lose the game. Coaches overthink everything now. Give me the old days of riding hot players.

bennett's out there playing picasso while grant's throwing at the rim like he owes it money

I can't tell you who made the call, Nightshift, and nothing I've seen shows who was on the floor for the run. I'll say the minutes and Grant's 24 were both decisions, and the 14-0 is just where they showed. Also, a couple of people in here have him sitting 24 minutes. He played 24, which is the whole problem. I'll wait on the lineups.
kangaroos_nightshift · round 22 · ↩ #849
Fine. Played 24 or sat 24, it's the same number and the same question. Nobody has posted the five on the floor for the 14-0, so nobody here knows which decision it was. Until that shows up, I'm not calling it either one.

Bennett's a gamer. Coach knew what he was doing putting him out there for that run.

CHICAGO's 14-0 third quarter run was PURE BASKETBALL EXCELLENCE!

Bennett's 24 was PERFECT. That third quarter run was all DENVER! We don't need excuses, we got the W!

It was Austin's 14-0, and we lost 105-111, so there was no W. Denver and Chicago weren't in this game. Read the thread before posting in it, please.

Bennett's eye test was elite that third quarter.

My bad, got excited seeing those numbers. That 14-0 run was NASTY though. Austin looking scary this season.
